Komorebi is a lighting collection inspired by the art of kirigami that seeks to create memorable atmospheres through light and shadow. The project is conceived as a collaboration with Casa Cuna Santa Isabel, a shelter that supports pregnant women and mothers with children under the age of two who are in vulnerable situations. It proposes a hybrid production system in which the kirigami lampshades are handcrafted by women linked to the centre, while the structures are industrially manufactured in Valencia. The system is designed to fit within the centre’s training programmes, offering participants the opportunity to learn kirigami and basic business management skills while generating economic benefits for both the women involved and the organisation.
