Notebook of Sonnets

by Begoña Jordá Albiñana SPAIN
for MuVIM | Museo de la Ilustración in Valencia - 27/02/2026
“Notebook of Sonnets” is a collection of works that combine an expressive illustration style with digital techniques typical of graphic design, resulting in illustrated and carefully designed sonnets. In these illustrated sonnets, we find objects, textures, and lettering. The process begins with hand drawing and then moves on to the digital treatment of the works that make up this repertoire of graphic verses. The illustrations take as their starting point the vignettes of Richard Gans, founder of the printing house and type foundry that bears his name, with a particular focus on decorative and funerary themes. In this way, the artist seeks to pay tribute to and express her admiration for Gans and his contribution to the history of design and typography.
