When does a letter cease to be linguistic typography and become creative illustration? A journey through typography as a medium for artistic experimentation.
These creative typography designs, presented for the Museu Valencià de la Il·lustració i de la Modernitat (MuVIM), form a series of works titled “You Are Not My Type”, in which I seek to showcase the creative potential of typography when it is transformed and modified until it becomes an illustration.
I use parts of letters with great creativity—elements that are sometimes imperceptible yet play a significant role in typographic anatomy, such as the counterform or negative space. Simple, clean, and unique compositions, with logical shapes and vibrant color schemes, result in dynamic designs full of life.
