Códix is an experimental Mexican display typeface exploring territory, rhythm, and visual memory. Developed in Oaxaca, it draws inspiration from geometric patterns, cultural pathways, and local graphic traditions. Built from parallel lines, each letter behaves like a route—rising, bending, connecting, and forming its own architecture.
While its multiline construction may recall Mexico 68, Códix follows a fundamentally different logic. Rather than referencing an event or institutional identity, it functions as an authorial typographic system rooted in place and cultural expression. Designed as a lowercase display typeface with accents, symbols, and numerals, it creates words with their own rhythm and movement.
